Jennifer B. Lyle is the Executive Director (ED) for the Collaborative. As ED, Jennifer is primarily responsible for ensuring that internal systems and practices are aligned with the Collaborative mission and principles; oversight and support of the 30-member collaborative and oversight of the BBK Collaborative staff and programs.
For over twenty years, Jennifer has actively worked towards the wellbeing of young people and their families. Her education and work have taken place in the streets, across continents, with community organizations, government, schools, and, academia. Jennifer has designed and directed various community- and site-based projects that focused on economic justice, academic achievement, substance abuse prevention, health promotion and community directed leadership development and change. She received her Master of Social Work, Master of Sociology and PhD in Social Work and Sociology from the University of Michigan.
Jenn “JJ” Balogh (pronounced “Bay-low”) is BBK’s Director of Evaluation and Research. Jenn works with BBK’s staff and parent leaders to determine which of the BBK’s innovative programs and community organizing efforts are making a real difference. For over 25 years, Jenn has been helping nonprofits and community groups make better decisions. Since joining BBK in 2013, Jenn has worked to bring BBK’s evaluation work into alignment with our values of respect, empowerment and community engagement using creative new tools and methods. Jenn obtained her B.S. from University of California at Riverside, where she studied anthropology, sociology and psychology. Jennifer received her MPH in Behavioral Sciences, and her MSW in Planning and Mental Health, both from UC Berkeley. (Jenn is also an expert on cowboy boots. JoAnn Ford grew up in Richmond, the oldest of five children. Attending school in the West Contra Costa Unified School District, she graduated from Sierra Adult School and also attended Contra Costa Community College. JoAnn is the proud mother of six wonderful children. JoAnn began as an intern in February 2012, serving with BBK ever since, because she wants to see positive changes in the community she loves and cares about. For her dedicated service and work in the Iron Triangle, JoAnn has received several awards, including an award from the City of Richmond. JoAnn enjoys camping, swimming, walking and spending time with her family.
